Yokozuna is a long standing Japanese restaurant in the south side of Edmonton. Their reputation is one of fresh food and generous portions. It was great that they were open again after being closed for renovations. The space inside is beautiful. Very lovely wood and light fixtures. The service was very friendly and helpful but extremely slow. It was a long time between dishes and they once even brought us a dish we hadn't ordered. They are so kind about everything...but I am hoping the slow service was just a blip. All around great Japanese dining offering. 4 x

The service here was great. The food was a bit expensive for what is was but still good. The sashimi was fresh and I’d recommend getting the beef tataki. However I’d pass on the skewers.

This is my gem. Not many people know about it but I firmly believe it is the best Japanese restaurant in Edmonton . PERIOD. Staff/food/atmosphere all great. I’ve come here for over 10 years before the renovation and I will continue to come. (Ask for the specials on Fridays and weekends)

Good skewers (pork, steak, scallops) Tried the famous Black Dragon (BBQ Eel +scallops) it was California cone was huge for $6 only Tip: Recommend on making reservations even a small group

This place is always busy, and for good reason. Yokozuna is a hidden gem and is probably one of my top Japanese sushi restaurants. The black cod wasn’t that great, but everything else I tried was top tier. I highly recommend the black dragon roll, and the sashimi. Ice cream was also tasty too.

This place is a gem! Easily the best sushi is Edmonton. The food is consistently great. The quality is fantastic, very important when each seafood and particularly so for sushi. Wide variety on menu. Nana, the manager and the rest of the staff always take excellent care of us every time we visit. Make a reservation. This place is so great that they are very busy.

My go to place for Japanese. Been coming for years, and have never found a better place for sushi, and I don't mean just in Edmonton. Service is always A1, and quality of the fish is top notch as well. Sashimi is sliced thick, rolls are packed with seafood, and beer always cold . I would recommend a reservation, as the place gets full quickly. Though all the years coming here, I have never received a wrong order, nor have had to send anything back. The owner is always polite and cheerful. Highly recommend.
